Behind the scenes, the Dent County Fire Protection District has been working diligently to ensure the successful implementation of Proposition Fire. At the recent regular Board of Directors meeting, LJ Hart & Company was in attendance to provide a project timeline and outline the next steps.
Bond funds are expected to arrive by mid to late June. Once received, several major purchases will begin moving forward quickly. The district has entered into a contract to purchase one fire engine and has submitted a letter of intent for two pumper tankers. Additionally, the Board approved quotes for two new skid units for our brush trucks and for 12 additional self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and 24 air bottles.
