All veterans of the armed forces, and their families, who served anytime from Nov. 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, will be recognized during a special Vietnam Era Veterans recognition ceremony at 9 a.m. Oct. 9 at the Salem Community Center @ The Armory. The event will be one of the last in Missouri during the official the Vietnam War Commemoration, a Congressionally authorized 13-year window to honor Vietnam Era Veterans for the 50th anniversary of the conflict’s cessation.
