The Dent County Commission met for its regular meeting Thursday, Nov. 20. In attendance included Presiding Commissioner Gary Larson, First District Commissioner Keith Green, Second District Commissioner Jimmy Williams, and County Clerk Angie Curley.
No meeting will be held next week due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
Treasurer Denita Williams shared that CART Tax has been received. The Road and Bridge Department received $93,591.45, which is up from last November $11,449.28. This is up YTD $73,570.55, a 8.3% increase.
During the meeting held Monday, Nov. 17, the commission agreed to add to the county policy requiring disclosure or acknowledgement if video or audio recording during a County Commission meeting. In addition, the commission agreed to sell the 2006 Ford 450 Truck and 1998 Pup Trailer on Purple Wave.
Larson reported he attended the Meramec Regional Community Foundation (MRCF) meeting Wednesday, Nov. 19. There were several applications for the Phelps County disaster relief grants approved. At the Tourism Commission meeting, he reported that there was one application and two reimbursements approved.
In addition, Larson reported that the Dent County Courthouse will begin the hiring process for a janitor.
Curley reported that bills are to be approved, and that she continues to work on the budget for 2026.
Commissioners approved putting the construction for the ADA compliant bathroom out to bid.
Road Reports
District One Commissioner Keith Green
Crew members will be completing maintenance and training projects.
District Two Commissioner Jimmy Williams
Crew members will be completing maintenance on tractor #6. Crew members will be cutting brush on County Road 2610 and within the Lenox area.
