After 45 years, Donna Purcell, retired from The Salem News. Her last day was Friday, Oct. 10. Her career at the newspaper began in advertising design and layout in 1979 and she switched to sales about 17 years ago.
“Donna has been a crucial member of the team. She has taken care of her clients’ advertising needs for a long time, knows them well and truly cares about the success of their businesses. She will be missed, but we are very happy for her and wish her well in her retirement,” said Publisher Allison Skinner.
Anna Torres is taking over as the lead sales representative covering Salem and the surrounding area.
“I grew up in the area. I raised my children here and now they are raising my grandchildren here. There is no place else like the Missouri Ozarks,” Torres said. “I started at Waynesville Daily Guide in 2009 as an inserter, moved to circulation manager in 2010 and in 2017, I became an advertising ad rep. I look forward to helping Salem businesses grow and thrive.”
“Anna is passionate about getting to know her clients and finding the right marketing plan to fit their needs,” Skinner said. “She has a lot of great ideas and experience in the field that will make her the go-to person for all advertising needs in digital and print.”
Her sales coverage also includes Waynesville and St. Robert area for Pulaski County Weekly, and Rolla for Phelps County Focus.
