The birthday of the Dent County Courthouse was celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 4, with hundreds gathering in downtown Salem. The three-story brick building originally opened in 1870 and has remained the seat of Dent County’s government through 155 years of legal drama, public meetings and everyday activity.
