In new business, Mary Martin from American Midwestern Insurance was on hand to discuss Insurance from VFIS and ESIP for the department and answer questions from the board. Provident Insurance from Town and Country Insurance also presented. The board asked to see some changes in the policy and different options from American Midwestern.
Under chief reports, Chief Dennis Floyd reported there was an increase of $5,000.00 on skid units due to a new tariff charge. The chief will rebid and get results to the board. Further, after looking at three truck manufacturers, it appears the Banner truck is better than the Fouts or Sentinel for DCFPD needs. The board decided that a special meeting would be required to move forward with brush trucks. The date was tentatively set for June 25 or 26.
Also approved included the following:
• Minutes, financial report (with an ending balance of $365,887.97), bills, payments, statements, and budget
