The Dent County General Municipal Election will be held April 7, 2026. Candidate filing officially began Dec. 9 and ran until Dec. 30. The deadline for certifications for elections and non-elections is Tuesday, Jan. 27.
The Salem News has gathered the following information on candidates running for the April election. If incumbents are running unopposed, there will be no election for that entity.
Feb. 24, 2026 is the first day for absentee voting. March 11, 2026 is the last day to register to vote. March 24, 2026 no excuse absentee voting begins. March 25, 2026 is the last day to mail an absentee ballot.
One has filed for Mayor: Greg Parker, incumbent
Eastward Aldermen has had two file for the open position—Nathan Kinsey, incumbent, and Dylan McGinnis.
Westward Aldermen has had two file for the open position—Catherine Dent, incumbent, and Kyle Williams.
Salem R-80 Board of Education
Three have filed for the Salem R-80 Board of Education, including two incumbents, Andrew Wynn and Dru Howard, and one new filer, Luke Heithold.
Oak Hill R-I Board of Education
Three incumbents have filed: Daniel England, Thomas England, and John Hoodenpyle
Green Forest R-II Board of Education
Three incumbents have filed: Amber Towman, Kyle Case, and Jason Jones.
Dent Phelps R-III Board of Education
Four have filed for the three positions on the Dent-Phelps R-III Board of Education, including incumbents Nick Gover, Caleb Gidcumb, and Bill Manthey, and new filer Joshua Summers.
North Wood R-IV Board of Education
Four have filed for the three positions on the North Wood R-IV Board of Education, including incumbents Jenna Dunn, David Massengale, Aaron Brooks, and one new filer, Noah Sapp.
Salem Memorial Hospital Board of Directors
Karen Brown, incumbent, has filed for the Salem Memorial Hospital Board.
