What's the one place you can look at animals, have a fun fright, and see the proper use of tax money all at once? If you guessed Boo at the Zoo located at the Saint Louis Zoo, you're correct! Boo at the Zoo is an exciting, Halloween-themed event at the zoo from Oct. 13 to Oct. 29. I had the opportunity to attend this event on Oct. 8 on a field trip for my college biology class, and it was a memorable experience. The trip for me wasn't just about the exotic animals, pumpkins, and spooky, seasonal scenes (though those were awesome). Boo at the Zoo also opened my eyes to how tax money can actually go toward something fun and meaningful.
Boo at the Zoo was a blast for all the students in Liz Hogan's college biology classes. The moment we arrived, everyone was greeted by a sea of Halloween decorations. It felt like we had stepped straight into a classic Halloween movie, something right out of The Nightmare Before Christmas or Frankenweenie. The atmosphere got me right into the spooky season spirit!
