Koller took her place between City Administrator Ray Walden and City Attorney James Weber.

The City of Salem Board of Aldermen met Monday night at 7 p.m.

Mayor Brad Nash appointed Tammy Koller as temporary city clerk. After the board voted 4-0 to accept the mayor’s recommendation, Nash administered the oath of office to Koller.

Earlier Monday a text to city administrator Ray Walden asked for more information on an agenda item for Monday’s aldermen meeting, which read that mayor Brad Nash would appoint a temporary city clerk. Walden did not answer the text.

City clerk Mary Happel, who handles much of the accounting for the city, has worked for the city since December of 1978. She was appointed city clerk in 2001 and has been reappointed every year since. She was assistant city clerk for 15 years and worked in the utility office seven years.
