Funeral service for Marion M. Wood was January 24, 2019 at James & Gahr Mortuary, Salem, with Pastor Shannon Lambert officiating.
Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Parks, Curt Baldwin, Richard Nothaus, Ethan Brueggemann, Duane Blackwell and Gary Nash. Honorary pallbearers were Scott Wood, Kyler Baldwin, Blake Wood and Kenny Phillips. Scott Wood was the soloist. Tabi Parks and Dani Baldwin shared a flute duet and a special poem.
Mrs. Wood was born March 3, 1923 in Timber to Green and Ona (Conway) Shelton. She married Arvel Wood October 9, 1948. They were the parents of four children. Mrs. Wood died January 21, 2019 in Salem at the age of 95 years.
Survivors include her children, Lindell Wood and wife, Janet, Union; Lona Phillips and husband, Kenny, Salem; Loren Wood and wife, Kathy, Salem; and Lois Bahr, Washington; grandchildren, Scott Wood and wife, Staci; Amy Hayes; Dani Baldwin and husband, Curt, Salem; Ethan Brueggemann; Tabi Parks and husband, Mike; great-grandchildren, Blake Wood, Alicen Hayes Paige Fenwick, and Hailey, Khloe, and Kyler Baldwin; and a host of extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; siblings, Jewel Hodge, Alpha Baum and Wayne Shelton; and grandson, Elija Brueggemann.
Mrs. Wood was a longtime member of Grace Community Church.
