According to reports from the Dent County Sheriff’s Department received Jan. 19:
•On Jan. 16, a complaint was made to the Dent County Sheriff's Office of a forgery. The reporting party had written a $50 check which had been altered to appear as a $150 check.
• On Jan. 17, Lavere Chambers contacted the Dent County Sheriff’s Office to report a shop on her property had been burglarized. Chambers reported several items were missing. Deputies were dispatched and made contact with Gregory Chamber. Chambers advised the items missing are: orange homelite chainsaw, black plunge router, black heat gun for stripping paint, DeWalt palm sander, orange Home Depot bucket, brown satchel, Hatachi cordless drill with battery and charger, Makita cordless drill with battery and charger, hammer and a small sledge hammer.
• On Jan. 17, dispatch received a call from Larry Capouch. Capouch reported he owns a house on Highway N. Capouch reported he arrived at the property and noticed the chain to the front gate was cut. Capouch stated several tools were missing from a pegboard hanging up in his garage. Among the tools stolen were: a portable compressor, a drill and battery, and several hand tools. Capouch also stated that he had 2 (two) five gallon diesel cans, five gallon gas can, a Bobcat spare wheel and tire stolen as well as a specialty tire removal tool for the Bobcat. Deputy observed several pry marks on the door jam of the garage door. Digital photographs were taken of the garage door as well as the locations where the items were stolen.
• On Jan. 17, deputies were dispatched to a residence on County Road 3235 for a report of a burglary. Upon arrival, deputies met with a female who was identified as Diana Chang. Chang stated that her son was missing guns, a pair of boots and an iPhone. The missing items are described as: a Remington 30-06 Model 770, a Henry Youth Model .22 long rifle, an over and under 20 gauge shotgun with a wood stock, a Remington Model 870 12 gauge shotgun with camouflage barrel, a black stock 2 Colt .22 short Derringers in a box, a white iPhone 4 and a pair of Tony Llama boots with white tops and brown bottoms.
