In the Dent County Circuit Court March 21 in the courtroom of the Honorable Judge Brandi L. Baird:
- Jeremy E. Asher, 26, was arraigned on a felony charge of driving while intoxicated, persistent offender. According to the probable cause statement on Jan. 6 Asher was driving 70 mph in a 55 mph zone when he was pulled over. The officer noticed the smell of intoxicants on Asher’s breath and proceeded to issue a field sobriety test, which Asher failed. His next court appearance will be 9 a.m. May 2.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Jessica L. Becker, 22, on felony charges of accessory to unlawful use of a weapon and accessory to assault in the second degree. According to the probable cause statement Becker, in concert with another, threatened to kill a person and struck them with a set of brass knuckles.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Kristen D. Bettigrew, 18, on felony charges of theft of a controlled substance. According to the probable cause statement Bettigrew took 23 hydrocodone pills from a friend’s house and was apprehended after she agreed to return the pills. Her next court appearance will be 9 a.m. April 4.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Paul A. Bourbon, on a felony charge of non-support with arrears in excess of 12 monthly payments due under order of support.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Lester J. Bridges, 45, on felony charges of driving while intoxicated, chronic offender, operating a motor vehicle while his license was revoked, and stealing a motor vehicle. According to the probable cause statement on Dec. 28 Bridges stole a vehicle from the Walmart parking lot and drove it while intoxicated. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. May 2.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Scott L. Brooks, 24, on felony charges of accessory to trafficking in drugs, accessory to manufacturing a controlled substance, and accessory to the possession of a controlled substance. His next court appearance will be 9 a.m. May 2.
- Donald R. Burrow, 35, was arraigned on felony charges of animal abuse. According to the probable cause statement on Dec. 26 Burrow left several dogs unattended, without food, water, or shelter, resulting in the death of some of the animals. His next court appearance will be 9 a.m. May 2.
- A preliminary was set for Daniel T. Burton, 37, on a felony charge of operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license is revoked. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. April 15.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Nathan L. Chandler, 35, on felony charges of accessory to trafficking drugs, accessory to distribution of a controlled substance, accessory to possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of a firearm. His next court appearance will be 9 a.m. May 2.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Matthew J. Colburn, 29, on a felony charge of distributing a controlled substance. According to the probable cause statement on Dec. 3 Colburn distributed methamphetamine at 607 North Washington, within 2,000 feet of an elementary school. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. May 2.
- Jeffrey K. Cottrell, 52, was arraigned on a felony charge of driving while intoxicated, persistent offender. According to the probable cause statement on Dec. 16 Cottrell operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, and had been charged as such on two previous occasions. His next court appearance will be 9 a.m. May 2.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Thomas W. Counts, 32, for a felony charge of non-support, total arrears in excess of 12 monthly payments. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. April 18.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Tausha N. Crocker, 24, on a felony charge of possession of chemicals with intent to manufacture. According to the probable cause statement Jan. 19 Crocker, in concert with another, possessed Coleman fuel, cold compresses, pseudoephedrine pills, and other precursors to methamphetamine. Her next court date will be 1 p.m. May 2.
- George W. Dotson, 38, was arraigned on felony charges of possession of any precursor drug with intent to manufacture amphetamines and possession of chemicals with intent to manufacture. According to the probable cause statement on Jan. 19 Dotson purchased pseudoephedrine as well as other methamphetamine precursors at Walmart. His next court day will be 1 p.m. April 23.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Edward L. Durham, 31, on felony charges of theft and fraudulent use of a debit/credit device. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. May 2.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Rachel L. Durham, 27, on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. According to the probable cause statement on Jan. 12 Durham was stopped for driving erratically and found to have a used syringe in her possession, she admitted to the officer to be using opiates. Her next court appearance will be 1 p.m. May 2.
- Brandon K. Huett, 27, was arraigned on a felony charge of theft. According to the probable cause statement on Jan. 3 Huett stole a laptop from Walmart worth $500. His next court appearance will be 9 a.m. April 18.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Michael K. Jackson, 51, on a felony charge of forgery. His next court appearance will be 9 a.m. April 18.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Joshua D. Janson, 23, on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a chemical with the intent to manufacture, and unlawful possession of a firearm. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. May 2.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Jennifer R. Keel, 52, on a felony charge of manufacturing of a controlled substance. Her next court appearance will be 1 p.m. April 15.
- Donald W. Kelley, 48, was arraigned on felony charges of manufacturing a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. According to the probable cause statement a search warrant was executed on Kelley’s residence March 9, and a substance testing positive for methamphetamines was found. His next court appearance will be 9 a.m. May 2.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Nikki J. Larusso, 19, on felony charges of forgery, and receiving stolen property. Her next court appearance will be 1 p.m. April 15.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Joshua G. Lee, 26, on a felony charge of accessory to tampering with a motor vehicle. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. May 2.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Aaron P. Pelate, 23, on a felony charge of fraudulently attempting to obtain a controlled substance. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. April 8.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Hunter L. Shaw, 18, on a felony charge of resisting arrest by fleeing whilst creating a substantial risk of injury or death to another person. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. May 30.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Amy J. Shults, 33, on a felony charge of intent to distribute, deliver or sell a controlled substance. According to the probable cause statement on Dec. 3 Shults was the passenger in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation, after consenting to a search she was found to have needles and methamphetamine on her person. She advised officers it was to sell. Her next court appearance will be 1 p.m. April 15.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Roy D. Smith, 46, on a felony charge of incest. According to the probable cause statement between Aug. 1, 2011 and April 1, 2012, Smith engaged in regular sexual intercourse with a girl known to be his daughter and a third partner. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. April 8.
- Trampus F. Watson, 43, was arraigned on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and forgery. According to the probable cause statement between Nov. 17 and Nov. 26 Watson endorsed checks on his father’s account by signing his mother’s name. Both of his parents are in a nursing home. His next court date is 9 a.m. May 2.
- A preliminary hearing was set for Ashley D. Williams, 28, on a felony charge of possession of a chemical with intent to manufacture. According to the probable cause statement on Jan. 19 Williams purchased chemicals that were a precursor to methamphetamine at Walmart, and advised officers that she had used drugs in the car. Her next court appearance will be 1 p.m. June 13.
- Maressa M. Prince, 34, was arraigned on a felony charge of theft. Her next court appearance will be 1 p.m. May 30.
- A preliminary hearing was held for Ronnie M. Barton, 43, on a felony charge of driving while intoxicated, persistent offender, manufacturing of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child, distributing a controlled substance near a school, and possession of a controlled substance. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. April 15.
- A preliminary hearing was held for Christopher R. Brawley, 26, on felony charges of accessory to burglary and accessory to theft. According to the probable cause statement Brawley, between Sept. 15 and Oct. 12, entered a building owned by another and stole approximately $815 worth of property, including a shotgun. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. April 15.
- A preliminary hearing was held for Johnny E. Halbrook, 46, on a felony charge of driving while intoxicated, chronic offender. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. April 15.
- A preliminary hearing was held for Toni M. Lederle-Elmer, 38, on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. Her next court appearance is 1 p.m. April 15.
- A preliminary hearing was held for Charles H. Neal, 43, for a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. May 20.
- A preliminary hearing was held for Randall B. Payne, 26, on felony charges of accessory to burglary in the second degree and accessory to theft. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. April 15.
- A preliminary hearing was held for Robert E. Schofield, 26, on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. His next court appearance will be 1 p.m. April 15.
