The Salem High tennis team finished 4-1 in dual meets during a busy stretch last week.
The Tiger netters lost at home to Rolla 9-0 Monday, April 14 then reeled off four straight victories, winning at Willow Springs 7-2 Tuesday April 15; at Licking 9-0 Thursday, April 17, then beating both Willow Springs and Houston by identical scores of 7-2 at Salem City Park Friday, April 18.
That left the Tigers 8-2 in dual-meet play.
“We are playing our best tennis right now,” said Salem coach Will Hubbs. “Being led by JJ Smith and Emmett Headrick, those two seniors are playing awesome now.”
This week Salem again has a packed schedule. The Tigers are to host Mountain View Liberty Monday, play at Osage at 4 p.m. Tuesday, compete in the West Plains Invitational Wednesday; host the SCA Tournament Thursday at City Park, and play at Potosi at 4 p.m. Saturday.
