The fourth-seeded Salem High football team advanced to the semifinals of the Missouri Class 3 District 5 playoffs by defeating fifth-seeded Buffalo 20-14 Friday, Oct. 31 in first-round action at Schuchardt Stadium.
In the other District 5 first-round games, third-seeded St. James stopped sixth-seeded Strafford 29-7 Thursday, Oct. 30 in St. James while second-seeded Clever shut out seventh-seeded Pleasant Hope 48-0 Friday, Oct. 31 at Clever.
