Senior Zak Eplin ran for two touchdowns and passed for three more, including a 63-yard TD pass to J.J. McGowan with no time on the clock in the first quarter. Senior Texas Nall and senior Jimmy Hobson caught the other TD passes.
The Tigers came up with a safety with 9:20 left in the third quarter to lead 37-0. With 3:33 to go in the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs got their lone score.
Salem all-state senior Eli Floyd, who missed most of last week’s opening win against McDonald County with a knee injury, was good on all five of his extra point attempts. He also came up with a second-half interception, the 19th of his career.
Salem plays host to Houston next Friday in the SCA opener for both teams. Houston is 0-2.
