Salem saw its season come to a close at the Missouri Class 3 District 1 Tournament, held May 10 at the St. Francois Country Club in Farmington.
Salem finished 13th in the 15-school field with 541.
Cape Girardeau Notre Dame won the District 1 team title with 356 while Dexter was runner-up with 357. With those finishes Notre Dame and Dexter earned the automatic team qualifying berths to the Class 3 State Tourney, to be held at Crown Point Golf Course in Farmington Monday and Tuesday.
Dexter’s Ryan Collier won district medalist honors by shooting six-over-par 78 – one stroke better than Dexter teammate Dylan Sitze and Fredericktown’s Grant Ebert.
Dawson Dittman paced Salem with 121, while Justin Rusk shot 124, Elijah King 142, James Jackson 154 and Ryon Coursen 157.
