New Lady Tiger coach has experience to build around

Satterly takes over a squad which finished 8-24-2 last season. And from that squad the Lady Tigers return 11 varsity lettermen, including six seniors and five juniors.

Salem is to open the season Sept. 2 at St. James.

“I think we’ve grown a lot as a team, working together,” Satterly said of the team’s offseason and preseason practice work. “I’ve been making them play different positions in the summer, to expand their volleyball knowledge.”

Satterly has 32 players on the roster for varsity, junior varsity and freshman squads.

Leading the squad is senior middle hitter Addison Fulton, a returning all-district and All-SCA player.

Also back are senior outside hitter Abryanna Hawn; senior libero/defensive specialist Alexis White; junior setter Josie Howard; senior outside hitter Taylor Fulton; senior middle/right-side hitter Jessie Fulton; junior middle hitter Allison Walters; senior libero/defensive specialist Jovee Gollaher, and libero/defensive specialist Addison Stewart.

“I think we can be very strong offensively,” Satterly said. “We have several kids who can play in the front row. Addison Fulton has a great swing and is very powerful.

“Like every team, we need to improve on serve-receive. Serve-receive is so important.”
