The Salem Lady Tigers have been seeded second while the Salem boys are the sixth-seed for the Missouri Class 4 District 3 Tournaments, to be held Feb. 27-March 4 at St. James High School.
The district seeding meeting was held Saturday, Feb. 18.
The District 3 boys’ and girls’ champions will play the District 4 champions in sectional playoff action at the Farmington Civic Center. The boys’ sectional game is scheduled for 6 p.m. March 6 while the girls’ sectional game is set for 7:45 p.m. March 7.
Those sectional survivors move on to Class 4 Quarterfinal action against the sectional winner of the District 1 champion/District 2 champion on the campus of Jefferson College in Hillsboro. The quarterfinal boys’ game is set for 4:30 p.m. March 10 and the girls’ quarterfinal game at noon March 11.
The Class 4 Final Four is scheduled for March 16-17 on the campus of Missouri State University in Springfield.
Girls Tournament
Host St. James (18-7 as of last weekend) is the top seed for girls’ District 3 while Salem (15-10) is seeded No. 2, Sullivan (10-13) No. 3, Cuba (13-8) No. 4, St. Francis Borgia (8-16) No. 5 and St. Clair (4-21) No. 6.
St. James and Salem received first-round byes.
In first-round games Feb. 28, Cuba plays Borgia at 5:30 p.m. while Sullivan meets St. Clair at 7 p.m.
In semifinal action March 2, St. James plays the Cuba/Borgia winner at 5:30 p.m. while Salem takes on the Sullivan/St. Clair winner at 7 p.m.
The girls’ championship game is set for 3 p.m. March 4.
Boys Tournament
Sullivan (14-10) is the boys’ District 3 top seed while St. Clair (10-13) is No. 2, Cuba (13-12) No. 3, Owensville (6-18) No. 4, St. James (8-17) No. 5 and Salem (6-18) No. 6.
Sullivan and St. Clair received first-round byes.
In first-round games Feb. 27, Owensville takes on St. James at 5:30 p.m. and Cuba plays Salem at 7 p.m.
In the semifinals March 1, Sullivan plays the Owensville/St. James winner at 5:30 p.m. while St. Clair faces the Salem/Cuba winner at 7 p.m.
The boys’ championship game is slated for 7 p.m. March 3.
