The second-seeded Salem Lady Tigers ended a standout season by falling to top-seeded Sullivan 25-16, 25-23, 18-25, 25-14 in the championship match of the Missouri Class 3 District 9 Tournament Oct. 24 at Sullivan High School.
Sullivan went on to lose to Eldon 3-2 in the sectional playoffs Oct. 27. Eldon advanced on to the Class 3 Final Four.
Salem finished the season with a 26-9-1 record.
“The girls fought hard and battled for every point Monday,” Salem head coach Kristen Barnes said of the district finals. “I am beyond proud of how hard they played and how far we have come in three short years. A shout out to the seniors for making this season one to remember. They will be very missed.”

Emily Strange: 9 kills, 2 blocks, 1 assist, 2 digs.
