Kinsey Barton scored 31 points as Keira and Hailey Turnbough combined for 29 leading the Bunker Lady Eagles over the Mountain View – Liberty Lady Eagles 71-45 the night of Monday, Feb. 9. The Lady Eagles raced out to a 48-20 lead at intermission over the guest from Mountain View, never looking back again.
Bunker High School celebrated their Seniors on this special evening after the boy’s game.
The four seniors for the Lady Eagles, Kinsey Barton, Hailey Turnbough, Jesslynn Damouth, and Layla Taylor were in the starting line up along with sophomore Kara Barton. Kara Barton added five points with Jesslynn Damouth, Bella Sanders, and Raelee Bennett combining for six points, respectfully.
Senior Kinsey Barton is pursuing the school career scoring record during this incredible season for both boys and girls. Hailey Turnbough is nearing the 1,000 point career total putting her name in the Bunker history book. These two young ladies along with Brennen Meloy (1,500 points), and Owen Sanders (1,000), have represented the Eagles in a first class, professional manner.
Good luck to them and their teammates as the 5th ranked Lady Eagles record goes to 18-2.
The Lady Eagles will be on the road Tuesday, Feb. 10 with a date with the Lesterville Lady Bearcats in a Black River League conference contest. The Lady Bearcats enter the game with a 3-12 record.
