The Salem High School cross-country squad competed in the Steelville Invitational, held Sept. 15 at Steelville City Park.
Sophomore Alexander Diehl paced the Salem runners, placing eighth overall in the boys varsity race at 19:09. As a team the Tigers finished second to host Steelville. Steelville had 17 points and Salem 48.
Steelville’s Conner Diaz was the boys’ meet medalist with a time of 16:40.
In the girls’ meet St. James’ Vanessa Perona was the medalist with a time of 21:52.30.
This week Salem was to run in the Belle Invitational Thursday.
