Seventh grade won, 20-6 over Cabool. Will Land led the tigers with many big runs and two touchdowns for the night. Logan Riley, Kolby Grunden and Ryan Halinar made several tackles for loss and sacks on defense.
Both Andrew Pipp and Tyson Connor played great on both sides of the ball as well. Sy Dubois had a couple sacks on defense and a rushing touchdown on offense. Dubois and Levi Halbrook showed leadership and led us to the victory tonight. Colby Welch, Jayden Hicks, Cole Crocker and Ben Land helped open up many big holes for the tigers. “I’m so proud of our team tonight. We are now 2-2 on the year and improving each game.”
Eighth grade won big over Cabool, 38-0. Matt Stokes dominated on offense, defense and special teams. Stokes had a couple receptions, a touchdown, several tackles for loss, sacks on defense and then a kickoff return for a touchdown. Landon Richter and Everett Campbell made many key plays on defense and offense tackling and scoring touchdowns. Our offensive line created all the open holes and played great. These players controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball Charlie Terrill, Gavin Sapaugh, Trent Black, James Heithold, Kaden Robertson and Canyon Warden. Some guys who added in the action and our success were Wayne Parmeley, Ira Barton, James Lewis Brayden Radford and Braiden Gapsch. I’m very excited for these guys. They put in so much work and it finally paid off tonight. I’m proud of this group and we hope to finish the season strong. We have our last home game next week when we play Houston, Oct. 7.

John Hewkin has been a sports fan since he was a kid. He’s played, coached and been a fan of sports. I was a sports writer for 15 years before moving back to Missouri, but to this day you will still find me in my man cave a lot of nights and weekends watching something that requires a ball.
