Just to set some things right about Joe Biden's record for farmers compared to Trump's.
In the past ten years, the four lowest years for farm bankruptcies belong to Joe Biden. The four highest belong to Donald J. Trump.
Biden's best year was 2023 when there were 139 farm bankruptcies. That figure was the lowest since 2004.
Trump's best was 2018 with 498, more than three times higher.
Biden's worst year was 2021 with 276 farm bankruptcies during the worst of our Covid recovery.
Trump's worst year was 2019 with 599, the highest since 2011 and more than twice as bad as Biden.
Donald Trump and our Representative Jason Smith can lie about the record. They have to. But, no matter how you look at it, Trump is somewhere between 2-to-3 times worse than Biden when it comes to saving American farms.
See, when Democrats talk about saving American farms, they mean family farms and people who know about real work. But Republicans save corporate farms, their investors, and their super-wealthy owners.
We are here because just like in 2019, that dufus in the White House tried starting a trade war with China and had his butt handed to him—again. The fact is, the only reason our farmers need a 12 billion dollar bailout this year is because Trump absolutely sucks at the art of the deal.
