“The annual rodeo is a huge event for the both the chamber, and the community. A lot goes on behind the scenes for months leading up to Labor Day weekend,” shared Catherine Wynn, executive chamber director, on the most recent Chamber Rodeo. “Emily Cook, former executive director of the Salem chamber, along with the board, and Melba Headrick completed a lot of the work before I was in this position.”

“The two-night event was a success. The weather cooperated both nights and people enjoyed the show,” further shared Wynn. “I look forward to starting the planning for the 2026 rodeo in a few short months. An event of this size and caliber would not be possible without community support in the form of sponsorships, vendors, and attendees.”

John Hewkin has been a sports fan since he was a kid. He’s played, coached and been a fan of sports. I was a sports writer for 15 years before moving back to Missouri, but to this day you will still find me in my man cave a lot of nights and weekends watching something that requires a ball.
