Dent-Phelps R-III School’s board of directors voted to approve a contract with Brown Heating and Cooling for HVAC preventive maintenance during the 2018-19 school year at a cost of $550 twice yearly.
The board also voted to:
• seek bids for milk, diesel/gas and propane for the 2018/19 school year,
• schedule the June Board Meeting for June 21 and the July meeting for July 12,
• accept a bid from the Bank of Salem for depository the next five years,
• accept a bid for moving air handlers in two classrooms in the upper grade hallway by Brown Heating & Cooling for $14,900.
• accept a bid from U.S. Foods for school meals,
The board discussed purchasing a bus, and it was decided to revisit the subject at the June meeting after more information is available. Also discussed was LED lighting for the school.
• raise the adult lunch price to $2.85.
Mr. Creighton gave the Principal’s Report, and Mrs. Brooker gave the Superintendent’s Report.
In closed session, all current classified staff were rehired for next year. The board also voted to rehire Margie Antal-Green as part-time counselor.
