Meramec Regional Planning Commission (MRPC) received an unmodified audit opinion from Schultz, Wood and Rapp for the period ending June 30, 2024. The board approved the MRPC and component units audit at its Jan. 9, 2025 board meeting, following the presentation by Ken Schultz of Schultz, Wood and Rapp.
An unmodified audit opinion is given when an independent auditor deems a company’s financial statements are fairly and appropriately presented, without any identified exceptions, and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and applicable federal regulations.
MRPC had revenues of $3,209,747 for the year ending June 30, 2024 and expenses of $3,293,605. MRPC ended the year with a deficit of $83,858. The audit also includes audits of MRB, MRPC’s revolving loan funds and MRPC’s Intermediary Relending Program as component units.
“It was an extremely tough year, financially, for MRPC but I am extremely pleased that the auditors found everything to be in order,” said Executive Director Bonnie Prigge.
The audit firm did not make any recommendations for improvement over efficiencies in the management representation letter.
“I want to express my appreciation to the MRPC fiscal team and our entire staff for ensuring that funds were spent as intended with documentation to support expenditures,” Prigge added.
