The Dent County Health Center Board of Trustees met for its monthly meeting March 20. In attendance included board members Bob Gravley, Bob Parsons, Dennis Floyd and Lori Hasten. Also present were Zach Moser, Administrator, and Roma Jones, Assistant Administrator. Not in attendance was board member Carol Lacy.
The Health Fair has been scheduled for May 2. Moser presented and discussed:
• the report from Jessica Ricks, MPH, Population Health Director, on the CHA visioning meeting that was held March 12. The draft survey questions were given and a timeline for the rest of the project was laid out.
• the audit was moving into the “single audit” portion.
• terms of the negotiated agreement for lease with DCSWCD.
• proposals for trash collection services from Family Trash Service (FTS) and GFL for waste collection. FTS was $16.30 per month higher but had no contract required and no dumpster exchange fee. GFL required a three year contract and $150 exchange fee. The consensus was to go with FTS.
• progress on the transportation program and directed the board to the survey meant to collect information from the community on pricing, usage, and naming of the service.
Moser shared the draft of the annual report with the board.
A Mutual Aid resolution 202501 was presented, which authorizes the administrator to enter into an agreement with Texas and Pulaski Counties for environmental mutual aid agreements.
Moser presented a list of three desks which are no longer needed and asked for permission to sell. The board approved.
DCHC financial reports for February were reviewed. Current Assets at the end of the month were $1,394,961.75. Total assets were $2,289,944.10, total liabilities were $384,421.61, and equity was $1,905,522.49. Revenue for the month was $135,779.10; expenses were $137,975.34 for net operating revenue of $-2,196.24. After other revenue and expenses, net revenue was $-6,130.47. Financial reports were approved.
