Dent County Commission met for its regularly scheduled meeting May 23. There was no meeting scheduled for Monday, held Memorial Day.
Treasurer Denita Williams gave a CART tax report. The county has received $81,593.77. Last year, the county received $65,736.51. It is up from last May $15,857.26. It is up YTD $13,019.30, a 3.6% increase.
Presiding commissioner Gary Larson reported there will be a collection day of recycling at the Brewer Science, Inc. parking lot at 2401 Brewer Drive, Rolla 8 a.m.–12 p.m. June 8. Electronics, appliances, tires, and media storage are accepted.
Larson attended the Tourism Board the other night and had five requests, which were all approved; there were five reimbursements, with one denied due to lack of paperwork.
Deputy clerk Crystal Pilkington reported that bills are to be approved.
District One Commissioner Wes Mobray said crews will be grading county roads 4240, 6660, and 5490, and cutting brush on County Road 5080. Crews will be patching potholes on chip and seal roads.
District Two Commissioner Gary Polk reported crews will be grading county roads 5260, 6123, and 3200, and cutting brush on County Road 4290. Crews will also be hauling rock on county roads 3200 and 5260. Crews have also started working on Dent County Commons roads.
