At 8 a.m. Friday March 21, officers with the Salem Police Department and deputies with the Dent County Sheriff's Office conducted a search warrant in the 1200 block of North Main Street in Salem. The search warrant was an extension of an investigation into a missing persons and fraud case.
A body was located on the property during the search. Officers contacted the Dent County Coroner where the body was ruled deceased. An autopsy concerning cause of death is being conducted, and the results will take some time to receive.
