Candidate filing for the April 8, 2025 municipal election began Dec. 10, 2024 for a variety of board seats, including the City of Salem Board of Aldermen which features a grand total of three seats available and many filing for the positions. Filing for the election closed Dec. 31.
Dent County Fire Protection District
Four candidates have filed for the three board positions with six-year terms: Leigh Ann Price, Liz Gruendel, Jeffrey Stokes Jr., and John Knight.
Public Water Supply District #4
As only the incumbents have filed, no election will be held.
Salem Memorial District Hospital board
Karen Brown has filed for District 1 and Dr. Leigh Ann Price has filed for District 6, both incumbents.
Robert Parsons, incumbent.
Betty Wisdom and Sabrina Watson have filed, both incumbents. No election will be held.
Rick Letchworth (incumbent) has filed for the two-year, eastward alderman term, while Nathan Kinsey and Steve Evrard have filed for the eastward alderman one-year unexpired term; meanwhile, the single westward alderman position has three filed candidates for a contested race—John Whelan (incumbent), Roger Brooks, and Brent Klapperich.
Philip Mercer and Sammi Parker, both incumbents, have filed for the two open board positions.
Nancy Amaral (incumbent), Kenny Cook, Ashlee Ingold, Davey Hill Junior, and Brandan Houston have filed for the two open board positions. Kelly Hodge, who had filled previously, has since withdrew.
