The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) student groups of Oak Hill R-I and Salem R-80 have partnered with local churches and Healthy Dent County to invite the Real Encounter Outreach team to come to the Salem area the last week in September. As seen on Season 9 of America’s Got Talent, Real Encounter Outreach partners together with local churches and various organizations to connect with students in the community.
Their ministry is made of professional athletes and ministers in the area of Moto Stunting, Mountain Bike Stunting, Unicycle Stunts, illusionist, and BMX Bike Stunt Teams. Their outreach team uses action sports and extreme sports to connect with all ages of people.
Real Encounter events incorporate as many as three public school assemblies per day and ends their time in the area with a large evangelistic outreach event, open free for the community, while Real Encounter’s school assemblies focus on character presentations.
This “Real Assembly” is character based, which teaches that one student can have a positive impact in life and on their school campus. These assemblies, open only to students and school staff, utilizes live entertainment (BMX bikes stunt team) and the latest in audio and video technology. They use extreme stunts to capture the student’s attention and discuss the disciplines of extreme sports and tie those disciplines into real life situations.
The group shows how one student can have an impact in the lives of others. The assembly also discusses the character qualities of discipline, positive attitudes, making right choices, and encouraging one another.
Real Encounter will be performing for the following schools next week: North Wood R-IV, Oak Hill R-I, Dent Phelps R-III, Green Forest R-II, Iron County C-4, and Salem R-80.
The churches of Dent County and Viburnum, Healthy Dent County, and other organizations in Salem have come together with FCA to support and promote the Real Encounter event. Wednesday, Sept. 25, is the annual national See You At The Pole day where students around the country will come together to pray around their flagpole.
That evening, the public is invited to attend a free evangelistic outreach with a performance by Real Encounter Outreach from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Salem High School Gymnasium.
