ToRCH, which stands for Transformation of Rural Community Health, is a vital program aimed at improving access to essential services in rural areas. As a community partner in the ToRCH program, Aging Best provides B3 services to Medicaid recipients, helping to ensure they have the support they need to maintain their health and independence.
The $60,000 grant awarded to Aging Best will be used to purchase a dedicated vehicle for Dent County. This vehicle will enhance Aging Best’s ability to transport home-delivered meals and provide non-medical, health-related transportation for Medicaid recipients. This includes transportation for essential errands such as pharmacy visits, grocery shopping, and other critical health-related needs that contribute to overall well-being.
“Aging Best is a nonprofit, area agency on aging, and we are proud to partner with the Salem Nutrition Center to serve older adults and individuals with disabilities in mid-Missouri,” shared Director of Special Programs, Candi Bockenstedt, in an email to The Salem News.
“Since 1973, our mission has been to deliver the best support, services, and programs to help people remain as independent as possible as they navigate through life. We strive to keep our communities socially and physically active by providing services that make independent living a reality.”
With this grant, Medicaid recipients in Dent County can expect to see expanded transportation services in the near future, improving access to essential resources for those who need it most. Aging Best looks forward to keeping the community informed as it implements the improvements.
