The Oak Hill R-I Board of Education meeting met for its regularly scheduled meeting Thursday, May 9.
Members present were Nathan Ragsdale, Amanda Sapaugh, John Hoodenpyle, Daniel England, Thomas England, Rhonda Hutsell, and April Greener. Superintendent Steve Bryant and principal Breanna Taylor were also in attendance. Summer Wisdom, representing the Salem FFA organization, visited the board.
The board discussed and decided to not renew its contract with the Missouri School Board Association, with a unanimous vote.
Instead, the board discussed the alternative option of Missouri Association of Rural Education. The board voted unanimously to begin the contract with the Missouri Association of Rural Education.
Meanwhile, during the closed session which went from 8 p.m. to 9:31 p.m., the board approved the hiring of certified staff, Ciera Hamilton. The board also approved to begin the process of offering the rental house to staff and the community at $700 a month, plus utilities. First and last month’s rent will be up front.
