The General Municipal Election will be taking place in Dent County on Tuesday, April 8. The only districts to have an election will be the following: Bunker R-III, School District No. 4 of Iron County, Rolla 31 School District, Dent County Fire Protection District, Rolla Rural Fire Protection District, and the City of Salem.
The election is still incredibly important, however; not only will residents be choosing school board members, fire board members, and aldermen members, there will also be two “Proposition Fire” on the ballot to be determined by voters living in the Rolla Rural Fire Protection District (RRFPD) and Dent County Fire Protection District (DCFPD).
No excuse absentee voting for the April 8 municipal election continues through April 7.
The courthouse will be open Saturday, April 5, from 8 a.m. to noon for absentee voting. Public testing of voting equipment will be completed 9 a.m. April 1.
If you would like a sample ballot, email the County Clerk’s office at dent@sos.mo.gov or request one at the office at 400 North Main Street.
For any questions, call the county clerk’s office at 400 North Main Street at 573-729-4144. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
