Thankfully, blood donors came July 7 to the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church. The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks was pleased to have 52 donors register to give blood. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak the May Blood Drive had to be canceled and the Center’s blood inventory has struggled the past couple of months to meet demands, so Salem’s collection was a welcomed gift.
There were 41 units of blood collected. Five individuals donated for the first time and hopefully for many more times in the future. Under the advisement of the Community Blood Center, packaged snacks and bottled drinks were served. T-shirts were given to all donors.
