Give 5 for Dent County is thrilled to announce its Spring 2025 Nonprofit Showcase, a free, one-day event designed to connect retired and semi-retired residents with meaningful ways to give back to their community. The event will take place on May 22, and is open to all Dent County residents aged 50 and older who are looking to find purpose, meet new people, and make a positive impact through local volunteerism.
Participants will spend the day engaging with a diverse lineup of local nonprofits, learning about their missions, volunteer needs, and how they serve the Dent County community. From senior services and education to environmental causes and food insecurity, the showcase offers something for every interest and skill set.
The free event will take place 9 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at the Salem Senior Center, 604 McGrath Lane, Salem. Lunch is free for everyone participating. Transportation is available upon request.
“This one-day showcase is a fantastic way for retired and semi-retired individuals to explore how they can give back in a way that fits their lifestyle and interests,” said Candi Bockenstedt, Director of Special Programs at Aging Best. “It’s all about connection, purpose, and strengthening our local community.”
Whether you’re new to the area, recently retired, or simply looking to get more involved, the Give 5 Nonprofit Showcase is a fun, no-pressure way to learn how you can make a difference—on your terms. Space is limited—RSVP today!
