The City of Salem is excited to announce the launch of the Hometown Grid system, designed to enhance the way electric customers report power outages and stay informed about service interruptions. This system is now live.
To report a power outage, simply call or text 833-703-4811. This 24/7 system allows for quick and easy reporting, providing a confirmation response and follow-up questions to help pinpoint the source of the outage. Once identified, customers who texted their outage to the number will receive updates on the cause of the outage and estimated restoration times if available. Additionally, all reported outages will appear on a public map, giving residents real-time insight into the affected areas.
