The MPUA, the City of Salem’s electric power provider has issued a PEAK POWER ALERT for TODAY, Wednesday, June 15, 2022, between 4 and 10 pm.
We are asking all City of Salem electric users to help by doing your part to conserve energy this evening as much as possible. For tips and ideas on how to conserve energy, see our flyer.
A Peak Power event is one that sets a new high for the amount of electricity used in the City of Salem. Anytime our residents set a new Peak Power usage, it increases the cost of electricity to the City and that new number is what will be used to determine next year’s cost of electricity to you the citizens. This new rate would be on top of the rate increase currently being discussed.
Help us out, help your neighbors and yourselves by conserving energy today between 4 and 10 pm.
