Meeting minutes from an emergency meeting of the Dent County Fire Protection Board of Directors held Nov. 30 disclosed Fire Chief Brad Nash has tendered his resignation.
After the board accepted Nash’s resignation, a motion was made and carried all to assign current assistant chief Dennis Floyd as interim Fire Chief.
Nash also submitted his resignation from the position of Emergency Management Director, according to an announcement made by Dent County Presiding Commissioner Gary Larson during the Monday meeting of the commission.
The Salem News sought comment from Nash, who said he was resigning for personal reasons.
During the emergency meeting, the board unanimously approved the nomination of Dave Wells as the custodian of records and budget manager.
The emergency meeting had no notice and was held due to the “necessity of the meeting” according to a statement by board president Craig Smith. Smith said that the city-wide communication issues the day before prevented timely notice.
