The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce will host the ninth annual rodeo Saturday and Sunday at Dent County Commons.
Outlaw Rodeo Productions’ “Ready or Not” tour is making its annual stop in Salem, bringing top-notch stock and a highly entertaining show. The rodeo is sanctioned by Missouri Rodeo Cowboys Association, American Cowboys Rodeo Association, and International Pro Rodeo Association with riders competing for points on the rodeo circuit.
Many of the riders are professional; however, some area residents participate. Riders will have $500 added money in each event.
Gates open at 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday night. Advance tickets are now available at the Chamber/Visitor Center at the intersection of Hwy. 19 and 32 in Salem. Advance tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children ages five to 11.
Rodeo events include bareback and saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping, calf roping, ranch bronc, bull riding, and breakaway roping. The show begins each evening at 7:30 p.m.
A concession stand and vendors will be on the grounds.
Attendees are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue to honor veterans.
“The rodeo has been well-attended since the beginning almost a decade ago,” shared Tabatha Utley, Salem Area Chamber of Commerce Director. “Dozens of sponsors each year bring the rodeo back for fans and the chamber is thankful for that.”
