Two Dent County officials were elected to posts with the Missouri Association of Counties at the annual MAC conference held the week of Nov. 18.
County clerk Angie Curley was chosen as the director from the 16th District and will represent the counties of Dent, Phelps, Texas, Howell, Crawford, Maries, Osage and Gasconade.
Directors meet quarterly in Jefferson City to talk to legislators about bills coming up affecting the 16th District and other issues. Her duties also include providing a voice for the district in other dealings with the state.
Presiding commissioner Darrell Skiles was elected as an at-large district director of the MAC organization at the conference. He was also elected vice president of the County Commissioners Association of Missouri during the conference. Skiles will move up to president of the group next year.
