The Salem R-80 School Board met for a special meeting at 8:15 a.m. Monday, June 3 to approve a bid for the FEMA storm shelter.
Billy Cobb, representing Cahills Construction, was present to answer any questions. Matt Patterson, representing HTK Architects, was present to offer information on the bids and bidding process.
The motion to approve the bid from Cahills Construction for the FEMA storm shelter was made by Steven Patterson; seconded by Marjorie Pyatt. The motion passed 6-0.
In closed session, the board accepted the resignations of Kaylee Jay (SLP), Bekah Hayes (HS PE, Head Softball Coach), Makayla Schafer (MS Art), Amanda Hanger (Softball Assistant Coach).
The board also hired Lexi Wills (SLP).
Rich Parks’ contract was amended to 220 days.
