The Dent County Fire Protection District Board met for its monthly meeting Tuesday, March 11.
In attendance included board members David Greenshields, Liz Gruendel, Mike Godi, Dr. Leigh Ann Price, and Jeff Stokes.
The next meeting will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 8 at the library basement, due to ongoing voting being held at the Fire Department the same night.
The monthly reimbursement report was presented with a total of 16 calls for the month and 56 total calls for the year.
Price shared a Bond Progress Report. Information on Proposition Fire has been distributed to Town Screen and The Salem News. KSMO will be doing on-air interviews. Handouts have been received and will be distributed. There are plans to have a town hall meeting with the public on March 24.
Chief Dennis Floyd reported that brush fire truck pumps are causing problems and working intermittently. The department has borrowed a pump from Lenox until something can be replaced.
In new business, the board of directors terms were discussed with the decision being made to reach out to find answers. Meanwhile, Captain Earl Jarvis asked to acquire some of the fire equipment that was budgeted, including batteries and chargers for the SCBA packs and nozzles, with the board approving the purchase.
The board approved unanimously the following items:
• Minutes from the previous meeting
• Financial report reviewed with an ending balance of $383,614.53
• Bills, payments, and statements reviewed. The budget was reviewed.
