Filing for the Aug. 6 primary election opened Feb. 27 for candidates seeking state and federal offices in Missouri. Filing for the primary will remain open until March 26.

Eighth District US Representative
Incumbent Rep. Jason Smith (R-Salem) filed to seek a sixth full term. Smith was first elected to office in a 2013 special election and reelected in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2022. Challenging Smith again will be Democrat Randi McCallian, of Edgar Spring. Hillsboro’s Franklin Delano Roth II also filed as a Democrat.
State Representative - District 120
Incumbent Ron Copeland (R-Salem) was not filed for reelection as of March 1. Filing for the Republican primary was Cuba’s John W. Hewkin. Bourbon’s Jen Tracy filed for the Democrats.
District 120 includes the entirety of Dent County as well as the entirety of Crawford County.
Circuit Judge - Circuit 42 Division 1
Incumbent Circuit Judge Megan K. Seay filed as a Republican to seek another term on Division 1 of Missouri’s 42nd Judicial Circuit.
