The Salem VFW Chapter, working in partnership with Patrolman Hoffmeister, successfully organized a benefit coyote hunt in support of the Shop with a Cop program, which was held on Jan. 17. The organizers dedicated many hours of planning and hard work to ensure the event was well-coordinated and successful. Their commitment and generosity directly contributed to the positive impact of this program.
As a result of their efforts, the VFW proudly presented the Salem Police Department with a donation of $2,197, which will go directly toward benefiting the children of our community.
“We are sincerely grateful for their continued support and dedication to making a difference,” said the Salem Police Department in a post on social media Jan. 22.

John Hewkin has been a sports fan since he was a kid. He’s played, coached and been a fan of sports. I was a sports writer for 15 years before moving back to Missouri, but to this day you will still find me in my man cave a lot of nights and weekends watching something that requires a ball.
