According to reports from the Salem Police Department:
• A pedestrian was transported by EMS after being struck by a truck on Carty Street at Pace March 27. The victim’s name was not released. A 1994 Ford F-350 driven by Rickie Mounce of Salem was northbound on Carty when it struck a pedestrian near the intersection with Pace Street. The truck remained on the scene after the 5:50 p.m. accident.
• No one was hurt in a crash involving a driverless car on Roosevelt Street April 7. A 2007 Buick LaCrosse driven by Jesse Nash of Salem was eastbound on Roosevelt when it was struck by a 2009 Kia Borrega that rolled out of driveway into the street. The owner of the Kia, Floyd Trolinger, was in the passenger seat, cleaning the vehicle and leaned over to the driver’s seat before the Kia rolled into the street and struck the Buick’s passenger side. Both vehicles had minor damage in the 10:17 a.m. crash.
• No injuries were reported in a parking lot accident at Walmart April 14. A 2007 Toyota Sienna driven by Jamie Sanders of Salem and a 2016 Nissan Maxima driven by Kristina Nakanishi of Rolla were both backing out of parking stalls when the Sienna collided with the rear passenger side door of the Maxima. The Sienna had minor damage and the Maxima had moderate damage to the rear passenger side door in the 12:50 p.m. accident.
