In Dent County Circuit Court Jan. 26 in front of Judge Kelly Parker:
•William G. Phillips, 51, Saint Louis, had his probation revoked. He was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections. According to the probable cause statement, charges stem from a Nov. 14, 2012 incident when Phillips was found at 102 S. Jackson with a needle containing heroin nearby. Phillips stated, under Miranda, that he used the needle to inject heroin into his arms approximately 8 hours prior. He denied ownership of the needle, although he claimed ownership of foil found under a mattress, with residue, used for heroin.
•Scott Mendenhall, 22, Salem, had his probation revoked on a second-degree statutory rape charge. His previous seven-year and four-year sentences to the Department of Corrections for a 2012 charge in Crawford County of resisting arrest/detention/stop by fleeing and creating a substantial risk of serious injury and/or death to any person, and two 2012 charges, also in Crawford County, of second-degree assault, operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in injury, were executed by Judge Parker. He was committed to the DOC for those terms. According to the probable cause report, charges stem from a Nov. 22, 2014 incident when Mendenhall had sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl.
•Angelia Holweg, 38, Salem, pled guilty to felony counts of being an accessory to possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana, and a felony count of being an accessory to unlawful use of drug paraphernalia – amphetamine/methamphetamine. She was sentenced to seven years in the Department of Corrections for the first charge, and three years in the DOC for the second charge, both terms to be served consecutively. Holweg also plead guilty to two felony counts of distribution of a controlled substance. She received a sentence of 10 years in the DOC for each count, both to be served concurrently. Holweg will initially serve 120 days in a shock institutional treatment center under RSMo 559.115 and be placed on drug court.
•Jason W. Hodges, 41, Salem, pled guilty to a felony charge of being an accessory to receiving stolen property, and to a felony charge of receiving stolen property. He was sentenced to five years of SIS probation. Restitution was paid. According to the probable cause statement, charges stem from a March 5, 2014 consented search of Hodges’ property by deputies from the Dent County Sheriff’s Office and troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Found was a Yamaha FZR 600 bearing the same VPN as one stolen from a rented storage unit between Nov. 6, 2013 and mid-December of 2013.
•Joseph Jackson, 31, Salem, pled guilty to three counts of forgery. For each count, he was sentenced to six years in general population in the Department of Corrections, to be served concurrently.
•Derrick Enke, 30, Rolla, plead guilty to a felony charge of stealing. He was sentenced to four years in the Department of Corrections. According to the probable cause statement, on Sept. 1, 2013, Enke stole a pair of diamond-stud earrings, a Motorola 2-way radio and a Vizio 32-inch HDTV from Walmart. The total value of all merchandise stolen was $605.97. Video evidence of the theft was acquired.
•Christian Howard, 19, Salem, pled guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. A sentencing assessment report was ordered. No agreement has been made as of yet as to the sentence by the state. According to the probable cause statement, charges stem from an April 12, 2014 incident when Howard, part of an ongoing drug investigation, was observed by Deputy Joe Cochran sitting in an idling vehicle. The driver ignored Cochran’s orders to exit the vehicle. The driver proceeded to drive at Cochran, stopping three feet from him, and only after Cochran drew his weapon. Howard was asked to step out of the vehicle, and consented to a search of his person. Six clear capsules found on Howard’s person tested positive for heroin. Howard was arrested, and taken to Dent County Jail. During processing, Howard advised officers that he was concealing syringes. Syringes, a spoon with burnt residue, and 218 capsules that tested positive for heroin were found.
•Michael Norris, 32, Salem, pled guilty to felony counts of second-degree burglary, stealing, and unlawful possession of a firearm. He was sentenced to seven years in the Department of Corrections for each charge, to be served concurrently. Norris will initially serve 120 days in a shock institutional treatment center under RSMo 559.115. His RSMo 559.115 report is due 1 p.m. April 27.
•Jerry Phillips, Jr., 25, Salem pled guilty to felony charges of stealing and possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections on each count, to be served consecutively. Phillips also admitted to violating his probation regarding a different case, a second-degree burglary charge from 2013. Phillips previously imposed sentence of 15 years in the Department of Corrections was executed. Phillips will initially serve 120 days in a shock institutional treatment center under RSMo 559.115. According to the probable cause statement, on July 25, 2012, Phillips unlawfully entered a residence and stole four firearms, jewelry, a flat screen TV, a Nintendo Wii, and several controllers. All items were valued at $4,708. And on August 12, 2012, Phillips unlawfully entered a residence and stole a flat screen TV, a shotgun, a camera, a chainsaw and a weedeater. All items were valued at $2,649.47, according to the report.
