The Dent County Commission met Thursday morning at 9 a.m. in the Dent County Courthouse. All members were present. Darrell Skiles, presiding commissioner; Wes Mobray, district one; Gary Larson, district two.
Mobray reported that he has crews hauling brush along County Road 2470 as well as out patrolling roads for washouts and road damage.
Larson reported that, weather permitting, he has a crew grading and hauling brush from along County Road 4290, a backhoe will be cleaning drainage pipes on County Road 4050, and a crew will be picking up pipes from along County Road 4020 and removing trees on County Road 4010.
Skiles reported that he attended the Industrial Development Authority, where a financial update was presented.
The commission also unanimously voted to go out for bid on chip and seal. Sealed bids are due by 10 a.m. June 16.
Ron Copeland, representative to the state house, also attended the meeting and shared highlights from the recent legislative session.
At the May 23 meeting, the board unanimously voted to accept a $205,089 bid to purchase a MANTIS mower/tractor from Springdale Tractor—the purchase is set to be paid for out of ARPA funds.
