Dent County Presiding Commissioner Darrell Skiles reported that on Friday he will attend, along with other members of the County Commissioners Association of Missouri (CCAM), the trial of CCAM v. the State of Missouri. The trials pertain to concerns that CCAM has regarding the Senate Bill 53 passed at the end of last year’s legislative session. Their concerns with the bill relate to an amendment that was added on at the very end that removed each county’s autonomy when determining the sheriff’s salary. Their concerns also relate to the fact that that amendment did not go through committees before being voted into law. Judge Daniel Green will be presiding over the case.

Skiles also reported that he plans to attend the Salem Area Betterment Association meeting Monday and the Meramec Regional Planning Commission meeting on Thursday.
