The Dent County Commission met for its regular weekly meetings on Thursday, Dec. 4, and Monday, Dec. 8, during which Curley reminded all interested in running for local offices for upcoming municipal election to file with chosen districts by Dec. 30. In attendance included Presiding Commissioner Gary Larson, First District Commissioner Keith Green, Second District Commissioner Jimmy Williams, and County Clerk Angie Curley.
Curley reported that she balanced with the collector and assessor on all monthly collections, abatements, and add-ons for November. The commission reviewed the reports. Curley and the commissioners continue working on the budget for 2026.
Larson reported he attended the Ozark Solid Waste Management Committee meeting, where attendees reviewed the management plan for DNR. He will be attending the awards banquet Tuesday, Dec. 9 (today) in St. James, where several will be recognized for their work.
Treasurer Denita Williams reported the sales tax for December:
• General revenue received $83,575.14, a decrease from last December of $26,165.91. This is up YTD $11,375.49, a 1% increase.
• Road and bridge received $41,837.05, a decrease from last December of $9,993.41. This is up YTD $41,576.15, a 7.9% increase.
• Jails received $84,095.34, a decrease from last December. This is up YTD 7.9%.
Election reminders
Filing begins Tuesday, Dec. 9 (today) for the April 7, 2026 election. Filings will take place at chosen district offices that interested candidates are filing for. Contact chosen offices for available times and openings. The deadline for filing is Dec. 30, 2025.

District One Commissioner Keith Green
Crew members will be cutting brush on County Road 5610 and completing maintenance on trucks and equipment.
District Two Commissioner Jimmy Williams
Crew members will be cutting brush on County Road 2240, installing signs on County Road 3180, cutting trees from the storms, and replacing railing on the bridge on County Road 3220.

District One Commissioner Keith Green
Crew members will be out rebuilding in the area of County Road 2440 and hauling rock where needed in the Bunker area.
District Two Commissioner Jimmy Williams
Crew members will be assisting District One in the area of County Road 2440. Crew members will be going to Springfield to pick-up truck #122.
